The information we are providing to you (i.e., contact and other information about men or women who may be open to a call to minister at your church) is merely such information that has been provided to this office through the Church Resume Service, or during Interim Pastor training. As you know, each Southern Baptist church is autonomous; subject to the oversight and control of no other entity or authority (including the state and national conventions). As a result, each local church is solely responsible for interviewing, calling and employing their pastor(s) and staff. This responsibility should include doing an appropriately thorough background screening of all candidates—including those obtained through this service. As a result, the Convention has not, and will not, conduct such screenings on the individuals who upload their information onto the service. The Convention does reserve the right to remove any person and their information from the service at any time, for any reason.
